We set out for a two week getaway (10/14-27), looking not to drive more than two easy days from home. We'd never explored northern Utah. We set up a VRBO condo (Vacation Rental by Owner) in Huntsville, north of Salt Lake City. We've many times been to the bottom half of Utah. We set up a VRBO condo in Moab. (We arranged both not much in advance and both good deals.)

In the Salt Lake City area we visited Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons, Antelope Island, Park City, downtown Mormontown, and explored our home condo ground around Pineview Reservoir east of Ogden. In the Moab area we visited Arches National Park two days and the south entrance to Canyonlands National Park another day, plus time alongside the Colorado River and the special bonus, a slickrock Jeep ride.

Check out photos from the Utah, 201410 page.
If this blog unfolds as I’d like, I’ll batch together a collection of our trips of “us traveling the US.” Look for links to photo sets on each of the trip pages. We’ll see how much writing about the trips I manage.
